This guide is for absolute beginners.

Lets look at the desktop
By design you can't place icons/application in this desktop.
It is purely aesthetic.
You can however use the right mouse button to show a menu containing your application.

Their isn't much to see on the desktop except for the top bar

Most should be self explanatory.

Change Application Scaling will make icons look either bigger or smaller.
Try the option to see what happens. If you don't like it you can always set it back to 1.

OLED Brightness mode you should enable it only when your screen is an oled screen or when the brightness slider is not working as expected.
Lets look at the Notification Center.
Do you see the top most right icon?
Clicking on it or using the keyboard shortcut
mod4+X will show the following
This should show all latest notification you have received.
If you don't want notification you can toggle

Mod4+D (The Windows Key together with the D Key)

Start typing the name of your application.
By pressing enter you launch the application.
If you want to quit the app simply press
